Warda (she/her) is an artist and producer based in Toronto, born in Djibouti and raised in the UK. She created @HouseofArtsTo in 2021 and have been giving emerging artists of all mediums/practises: a stage, a home, and a community of supporters.

Acting Program Co-ordinator

Janet Hinkle (she/her) is a mixed-race multidisciplinary artist with a practice rooted in both contemporary fine art and craft. With a fondness for mixing juxtaposing materials and a practice rooted in shared histories, she is driven to explore concepts involving identity. In addition to her creative practice, Janet Hinkle coordinates and curates art projects and artist capacity-building programs.

Production Manager & Producer

Ilhan Aden (she/her) is a first-generation Somali Canadian. Aspiring to be a catalyst for positive change in the industry as a producer, they are concurrently embracing the learning process with the aim of finding joy in it. Grounded in the notion that if it takes a village to raise a child, it also takes a community to thrive, they recognize that art, meant to imitate life, is inherently a collaborative endeavour.

Marketing & Outreach

Mariana (she/her) is a skilled poet and marketing professional for the House of Arts. Having relocated from Mexico to Canada at the age of 17, she honed her artistic talents and actively contributed to the cultural scene in Toronto. Mariana is known for organizing various events that promote and support the arts in the city. An intriguing facet of her artistic journey is her unique approach of traversing the city with a typewriter, where she sells poetry under the pseudonym memoirverde.
